Consular appointments in LA

Estonia’s Consul from San Francisco will be in Los Angeles on Friday, November 11 to perform consular duties. Estonian citizens will be able to apply for a passport or ID-Card, renew their passport or ID-Card, and receive other consular services.

The appointments are held at the Los Angeles Estonian House, 1306 West 24th Street, Los Angeles, CA 90007.

Please pre-register for an appointment by emailing [email protected]. In your email, please indicate your mobile telephone number, the reason for the appointment e.g., passport renewal, an initial passport application or other reason, and your preferred time. Requests will be honored in the order received.

To renew your passport and/or ID Card, you will need:

  • A completed application, to be brought with you. Please fill out the application form (on screen or on paper, in capital letters), it should be signed with a black ink pen, including on the top right corner box of the application. The application form must not have any corrections. The address shall include the city and the country.
  • After your consular appointment you will send your digital photo to [email protected]. Write your name and Estonian ID-code or in its absence your date of birth on your email subject line.

In addition, you will need to bring your birth certificate and any other documents that support your claim for Estonian citizenship, e.g. an “archival notice” from the Estonian Archives https://www.ra.ee/vau/index.php/en/page/article/index?menuId=22. Please be aware of the requirement that documents issued by the US authorities require an apostille to be recognized in Estonia. See https://www.sos.ca.gov/notary/request-apostille

Please indicate where you want to pick up your documents by designating the city in the “place of issue” section on the application. Remember that Estonia has Honorary Consuls in San Diego as well as Los Angeles.

If you wish to authorize someone else to pick up your documents, you will need to authorize the person to do so during your visit. You will be given an authorization form to complete. It is not possible to authorize a third party to collect your documents after the appointment.
